We really need more context. Context is everything.
wompwomp_e•
I’ve never heard it in my life…
account9622•
I am a native speaker and I have never heard this before. Sounds like it's probably an insult (likely in a teasing way or smth), send context though plz; I'm super curious now
SkipToTheEnd•
Please tell us the context (what was said by you and this person before 'yoghurt girl').
I want to help you, and I am also curious because this sounds hilarious.
PayWooden2628•
Possibly yoga girl? Maybe you look fit and they thought you do yoga. I have no idea what yogurt girl would mean.
PunkCPA•
I don't know, but I'd probably prefer an ice cream girl, whatever that may mean.
chickadeedadee2185•
Hmm, are you Russian?
Jaives•
i didn't know what it meant either so i checked urban dictionary. you may have been insulted and possibly, sexually harassed.

I was at the store when a couple asked me for directions to the park. I tried to help and advised them not to take the taxis that show up randomly. The man thanked me, and as they were leaving, he said to the woman, 'She's a yogurt girl'
Before that, they were really kind, and the woman even said I looked really young. Oh, and they were tourists! They spoke in spanish with me, and I kept the conversation in spanish because I assumed they wanted to practice
old-town-guy•
At what kind of store do you work?
Independent_Friend_7•
the best i can make sense of this is that "granola" (which is often eaten with yogurt and fruit as a 'parfait') used to refer to hippies and environmentalists.
'yogurt girl' as an insult might mean you're naïve and idealistic or a wholesome, but almost blank slate.
just as likely though, is that it's a pop culture reference neither of us understand. maybe some fictional character looks like you and sells yogurt.
Bastyra2016•
Never heard of it-I’m guessing you misunderstood or if it was in Spanish they misspoke. It could have been any words slurred quickly together. I doubt it was meant as an insult.
Arcane_Pozhar•
Seeing as this came from an otherwise friendly elderly couple who spoke spanish, I am guessing either they got some slang term confused (and thought it has a nice meaning, when apparently it doesn't), or you heard wrong.
I know some posts are saying there are some rude slang meaning for this, but it seems odd to me that a polite elderly couple would suddenly drop a term like that after a nice chat.
Try not to let it bug you too much, as much as I do agree it seems odd.
Sagaincolours•
Are you a white person/pale? Maybe he was talking about you being white, yet able to speak Spanish? Like how some people will call whites "wheat", "corn" or other pale foods.
two_bunny•
Maybe u misheard and they said “she’s a good girl”
CoffeeGoblynn•
Unless you sell yogurt, I think you probably misheard them. That doesn't mean anything in English unless you work at a place that sells yogurt.
Smart_Engine_3331•
Never was a cornflake girl.
Disastrous_Ad_6024•
It sounds like a less vulgar way of saying "Jizz Jacuzzi "
VariousYoung8303•
It's possible you misheard and they were speaking a different language or "yogurt girl" translated into another language means something maybe.
MerelyHours•
I've never heard this, but if it's an insult maybe it's attaching some cultural weight to the food you eat. Perhaps like "oh you're a girl who diets and condescends to people about how they should eat healthier foods." I'm basing this on the idea of an "almond mom," a mother who only lets her kids have a few almonds as a snack because she's overly concerned about her kids' weight and beauty.
Or maybe it's nice and they think you just really like yogurt. "You're such a yogurt girl! go yogurt girl, enjoy your yogurt!"
SoyboyCowboy•
Your long lost brother here. "Yogurt girl" probably means you make an effort to eat healthy, that you care about nutrition and are a little high-maintenance.
"Granola muncher" is a similar one that refers to people who might hike/backpack, are committed to protecting the environment, are health- and nutrition-conscious, and probably drive Subarus.

UK English speaker here. Never heard this expression.

With imagination and a few healthy suggestions, a new superhero has been born! [Yogurt Girl](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt2402430/) embodies the joy of childhood wishes and the unlimited possibilities that each day can bring.
But seriously folks, this is almost certainly an inside joke between the two of them. They’ve been looking at strangers and deciding who was an ice cream person and who was a yogurt person, based on first impressions.
DawnOfApocalypse•
Probably a dirty inside joke
number4drunkenuncle•
It means he saw you as a young woman who has a certain aesthetic/lifestyle associated with wellness, minimalism, and a clean effortless appearance. You have healthy eating habits, minimalist fashion, well focused routines, and effortless beauty. Sound about right?
kayyxelle•
Did they maybe say “local” and you misheard is as yogurt?
AdreKiseque•
I don't know but I'm definitely gonna start using it
Jed308613•
Maybe they use the term because they both like yogurt, and it's sweet?
BobbyThrowaway6969•
Yoghurt girl? Sure it wasn't young girl?
Capybara39•
Never heard that before, but I would guess it means something like hippie(derogatory)
Sergeant_Major_Zero•
Did they say the thing about yogurt girl in Spanish or English?
ChardeeMacdennis420•
Maybe saying “a real good girl”?
mjekarn•
So they were English speaking, you gave them directions in Spanish but then the one said to the other “she’s a yogurt girl” in English? I think she likely said “local” which the vowels can sound similar. Like you were familiar with the area.
I-Am-Polaris•
That's such a yogurt girl thing to ask
OceanPoet87•
I have never heard of this term. You may have misunderstood them.
Separate_Draft4887•
I truly have no idea. I’ve never heard the term, nor have I heard any similar terms to gather context from.
I’m inclined to guess you probably heard them wrong.
crisdelh•
In Spain we said "es una yogurina" which in some way can be translated to "is a yoghurt girl". It means than someone is very young, most of the times in a good way.
smellymarmut•
According to Google AI, a yoghurt girl is a young woman who does yoghurt-making tutorials on Tiktok for people who have braces.
Affectionate-Mode435•
My best guess given the situation it seems more likely he said you're a local girl. That makes more sense as a response to your advice about what to avoid locally. Maybe with their accent it sounded more to you like yoghurt, but was in fact local. 🤷♂️
SnooDonuts6494•
Probably.
But it depends on context; there doesn't seem to be a globally accepted meaning.
It might mean you like yoghurt, or it might allude to sex.
