Honestly, reading the dictionary can be a great way to learn new words. Flip to a random page if you'd like. Merriam-Webster posts a word of the day on their website. [https://www.merriam-webster.com/word-of-the-day](https://www.merriam-webster.com/word-of-the-day)

[This may be an unpopular opinion] In my experience, trying to learn words isn't helpful. They need to be in context. The best way to increase your vocabulary is... it's the same old story... practice USING English. Read, watch, listen, etc. Movies / TV shows with subtitles. Listen to e.g. BBC Radio. Read news articles. Try to find subjects that *actually* interest you personally - not just boring ESL textbooks. If you like cars, look at car shows in English, or car websites in English. Or cooking, or games, or astronomy, or art, or... whatever the hell interests **you** personally. With one extra tip: keep a small pocket-size notebook, with a pen or pencil, and carry it with you at all times. Write down any new words. https://www.espo.org/media/catalog/product/2/6/26107_21.jpg?width=560&height=560&canvas=560,560&quality=80&bg-color=255,255,255&fit=bounds Any time when you have a few minutes to spare, look through it, and try to make sentences in your head.

I've been a teacher for 14+ years, and it depends on your goals. In general, learning from context, like reading or watching videos, is best. Keep a notebook or a note on your phone with new words you learn. Engvid.com is a great site for English learning with a more academic focus. The VOA and BBC also each have good English learning sites. There are lots of English teachers you can follow on Instagram or Tiktok. You can use freerice.com for casual practice. If you want to order a workbook, the English Vocabulary in Use series is very good.

Skribbl.io is good for English learners. The premise of the game is that one person draws a word and everybody guesses what the word is supposed to be. You can see the amount of letters in the word at the top of the screen, and sometimes you get hints about what specific letters the word contains. When it's your turn to draw, you can pick between 3 words.

Not a solution, but helpful grammar fixes: “can” should be lowercase A much more understandable way of saying the second sentence: “For example, I recently learned the word hilarious, and it made me curious about finding new ways to expand my vocabulary.” “I’ve been picking up on words from books, Reddit, YouTube, as well as other places. If anybody has any good suggestions please let me know. Thank you in advance!”
