I hear it as Frobenius, but I wouldn't say you're crazy for hearing "for" rather than "fro." It's the accent.

The very airy (?) way that individual is voicing his 'f' makes them sound a bit "fo."
You're not wrong, the pronunciation isn't quite right, but understandable.
