Where to practice English speaking skills?

Excellent_Fly9717
Hi everyone! I’m pretty good at reading and understanding English, but when it comes to speaking, I’m totally out of my comfort zone. I want to improve my fluency and pronunciation and I know that I need to practice more. Do you know any apps, tools, or resources that help with English speaking practice? Thanks in advance!

I’ve tried dozens app to improve my speaking. And for me the best app for practice English speaking is [getfluently.app](https://getfluently.app/) It is an AI English speaking tutor, which you can use for real conversations. After each call, it analyzes your speech and gives feedback to help you improve your fluency, grammar, and vocabulary. Also I tried boldvoice app to improve my accent. If you have problems with pronunciation, I recommend to check it out too!

If you enjoy playing video games, try using them to practice English! Many games have English dialogue and multiplayer chat, which can help with vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills

One thing that worked for me was trying to record myself speaking on different topics, just talking to my phone for 5 minutes. Then, listen to it and try to improve. It’s a bit awkward at first, but it’s a great way to notice patterns and areas where you can improve

Find an English-speaking club that matches your interests, like a book club or a hobby group. It's a great way to practice English and spend your free time productively :)

To get better at speaking, you have to speak more. Simple as. Discord is probably the best place if you don't have any English speakers in your country. If you like playing a certain game or have a certain hobby, find a Discord server all about that game or hobby.

There’s a Spanish-English Discord that has been really helpful in improving my speaking in Spanish. There’s a bunch of different channels to practice English/Spanish and listen to native speakers. Also there is a reading channel I utilize a lot where you practice your reading skills and people can correct your pronunciations. I have also made a few friends and been able to get language exchange partners. It’s been great on keeping myself on track because I actually have people to interact with :). You can download an app called Tandem and try to seek English speaking partners. I did this before I move to the US.

My wife learned English with zero English speakers around her. No joke, she would make up conversations and talk to herself in the mirror. Whatever she needed to do in Spanish she would try to translate in English and speak it out loud. She still uses TV shows (Friends is good for this) to correct her pronunciation by repeating how they say words.

Check out italki, they have English teachers / language exchange partners for all kinds of pricepoints. They provide a safe space for learning and practicing language where a lot of free online language exchange apps end up being a place where everyone is trying to date each other. Best part is about italki is the flexibility you get as you pay per lesson, without being locked into a subscription : [https://go.italki.com/rtsgeneral](https://go.italki.com/rtsgeneral)

English servers on Discord (VoIP app). Enter in some random voice chat and start practicing, is the best app for it imo

Hi there, I feel your frustration. I'm not too sure about where to find what you asked for but, I am a fluency coach and, I offer free, live fluency assessments. This will allow you to identify your specific obstacles. This way you can accelerate your spoken fluency progress. If you're interested here is the link: [Live Spoken Fluency Assessment ](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdEJhjZva89ZKLM_UaQnJ3HUZvcXnYWjnNVpxt6IqUy-uaSaw/viewform) Also, I share TikToks all about idiomatic language. I would like to preface this by saying I can 100% relate to your experience, OP, having faced the exact same issue earlier in my learning journey. I find it helps to know younger you have made the same type of mistakes while learning your native language and that acquiring the confidence to speak fluently has taken lots of effort over years and years. The same can be done with a foreign language. Video games where there is an impetus to communicate can be a wonderful avenue to practice your speaking skills through game chat or Discord. Muster up the courage and strike up a conversation. Over time you will notice yourself speaking more confidently and naturally. Best of luck!

I’m currently practicing every day with ChatGPT’s advanced voice feature. It’s great for me. The limit with ChatGPT Plus is one hour per day, so I make sure to practice daily. After three months, I really believe I’ve improved my communication skills a lot.
